The Rev. Joseph Carrier C.S.C. Science Medal and Lecture

The Rev. Joseph Carrier C.S.C. Science Medal will be presented to Dr. Thomas C. Südhof, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2013. The second scientist to recieve this prestigious award, Südhof will give a lecture following his acceptance of the Rev. Carrier Medal. 

A reception—including hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks, and a cash bar with beer and wine—will follow the presentation and Südhof's lecture in Dahnke Ballroom, which boasts stunning views of the Golden Dome and Notre Dame Stadium. 

The Rev. Joseph Carrier C.S.C. Science Medal is the most prestigious award presented by the College of Science, and is given for sustained, outstanding achievements in any field of science. It is awarded annually, alternating between the mathematical, physical, chemical, and biological sciences. The medalists are invited to give a lecture on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
