Panel: Ask Me Anything on Faith and Science

4:30 - 5:30 pm, Room 105 Jordan Hall

  • Santiago Schnell, William K. Warren Dean of the College of Science
  • Dr. Steve Barr, President and Founder of the Society of Catholic Scientists
  • Fr. Terry Ehrman, CSC, Assistant Teaching Professor in Theology, Concurrent in Biological Sciences

Dinner

5:45 - 7 pm, South Dining Hall

All are invited to join dinner in South Dining Hall after the conclusion of the panel. If you do not have a meal plan, all-you-can-eat guest meals are available for purchase at the door. Some free guest meal passes may also be available.

Vespers

7:15 - 7:45 pm, Lady Chapel in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart

We will join the Basilica's weekly Vespers, otherwise known as Evening Prayer. The beginning of Vespers is lit solely by candles near the back of the Basilica, so we recommend arriving early to find a seat while the lights are still on.

In honor of the feast day of St. Albert the Great, patron saint of scientists, the Society of Catholic Scientists Chapter at Notre Dame is holding its first Faith and Science Week, cosponsored by the College of Science, the Department of Theology, the McGrath Institute for Church Life, and the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture.

Faith and Science Week 2023 will take place from Sunday, Nov. 12, to Friday, Nov. 17, and will celebrate the harmony that exists between science and faith as two different paths to grow in knowledge of the truth.
