Study Abroad
There are many opportunities to study abroad as an NSBH major. Our majors have gone all over the world! Here is a link to some information about the many study abroad options that have worked for previous NSBH students. You can always find more information and the most up-to-date programs at the study abroad website. In addition to all those programs, we also have one NSBH-specific study abroad program, the NSBH in London summer program.
London Summer: Neuroscience and Behavior
2027 Program Dates: TBA
If you are a Neuroscience and Behavior major, we offer study abroad programs that support your major. You will earn six NSBH elective credits, one of which double-counts as a Liberal Arts 6 requirement. This opportunity is open to all NSBH majors. For more information, visit the study abroad website. The NSBH Summer London program runs every single summer. Reach out to Rachel Branco with any questions!
This London-based, 6-week, 6-credit, faculty-led summer program will connect Notre Dame Neuroscience and Behavior students with the history and research of neuroscience in England. The 2026 program was led by Professor Branco along with Professor Rudenga. In Professor Branco’s course, “Neuropharmacology in Great Britain”, students learned about the basic tenets of pharmacology and classes of drugs that affect the brain, with particular emphasis on drugs that have been important in Great Britain’s culture and history. In Professor Rudenga's course “The Art and Science of Learning”, students engaged with research, literary narratives, and experiential work on how the brain learns. England has a rich history of studying the brain. Excursions took students to visit sites associated with the study of the brain. Since Neuroscience informs the way humans experience all the world, students took part in a variety of cultural and entertainment events.
