The University of Notre Dame is committed to outreach in the greater Michiana area. The Neuroscience and Behavior Program took this initiative and created a specialized “Brain Ambassadors” team whose mission is to spread interest in all things related to the brain. These students take a one-credit Brain Ambassador Elective to aid community engagement in neuroscience and behavior. By engaging in hands-on neuroscience activities, ND students bring neuroscience to life in community spaces such as local libraries, schools, and public parks. Students also assist in creating new activities, making informational handouts, and developing training materials for future Brain Ambassadors.
